Celebration of World Mental Health Day

Title: Promoting Mental Health Awareness and Emotional Well-being

Objectives:

  • To create awareness about the importance of mental health.
  • To encourage students to express their emotions and manage stress.
  • To remove misconceptions and stigma related to mental health.
  • To promote a positive and supportive college environment.

Practice:

The Department of Psychology celebrates World Mental Health Day on 10th October every year to create awareness about mental health and emotional well-being among students. Various activities, such as awareness lectures, poster presentations, discussions, and guidance sessions, are organised to highlight the importance of mental health. Students are encouraged to share their thoughts, understand stress management techniques, and develop a positive attitude towards mental well-being.

Outcome:

The activity helps students understand the importance of mental health, develop emotional awareness, and become more supportive towards others. It also encourages them to seek professional help whenever required and promotes a healthy and positive learning environment in the college.

Beneficiaries: Students, teachers, and the college community.

Evidence: activity reports, Photographs, attendance records, and newspaper reports, wherever available.
